Today my little love and I headed to California Adventure to take part in the Shanghai Disney Resort Grand Opening Celebration. I saw the information on the Disney Blog website and immediately marked it down in my calendar. The first thing that excited me was being able to meet Mushu! I’ve never been able to meet him before so I was super excited.
The lines to get through security were super long and went super slow, but you know what- I am so glad they beefed up security. When I went through they were making everyone go through the metal detectors and with what recently happened in Orlando I think it is great that Disney is stepping up their security. Thank You!
Upon getting into California Adventure we received a button! You all know how much I love collecting disney buttons so I was happy about that..it’s the little things!
Over in Hollywood Land area in the stage area there was a cute little celebration area. They were serving food and drinks special for that day, they had live performances, cute lanterns up and the meet and greet with Mulan and Mushu.
I ended up getting 1 of each of the food items and basically inhaled them before I could get a picture-yeah, I was THAT hungry.
They served a “Lucky Tea” and it was absolutely delicious. If I remember correctly it is a passion fruit and mango tea. It came with this weird foam/cream stuff on the top that I scraped off but the drink….oh my gosh, SO good! I wish Disney always had it, I’d drink it probably every visit!
Now, like I said above…I was most excited to meet Mushu! When we got there (and I went back and checked twice) the line was 2 hours long and most of the line at that part of the day was in the sun-and it was super hot. We waited in line for about 20 min then sadly gave up. It was just way to hot to wait with my 6 month old in the sun. Sigh…next time Mushu, next time….but I did manage to get a picture of him!
The park was super crowded and it was so hot but I’m still glad we came. I’m not sure if it was so crowded because of the event or because the kids are out of school or both. Azalea and I had a great time walking around the park and like always, we can’t wait till our next visit!
Did you make it out to the event? What was your favorite part?
Thanks for reading!
