As every week goes by I get more and more anxious thinking her birth is just a few short months away. I am terrified but excited at the same time…. terrified for the pain and the unknown I will endure but excited because soon our baby girl will be in our arms! This week was…interesting. A few painful things happen and a lot of nesting going on around here…. oh and look who we got in the photo! Mr. RoskoMan!
How far along? 23 Weeks starting on August 19th, 2015
Total weight gain/loss: currently 134 lbs so I have gained 20 lbs so far. I was concerned about my weight gain so at my appointment yesterday I asked my doctor about it and she said I’m doing great, that I was a little underweight when I first got pregnant so I am on par with where I should be…
Maternity clothes? Yes, but Im thinking i will need to invest in a few more… we will see.
Stretch marks? yes, on my hips/butt area and I think there may be some new ones. They are super light (thank goodness) but I am going to up my water intake and start using my belly balm stuff more often to try and prevent any new ones.
Sleep: Oh gosh, don’t get me started on sleep. This week was terrible again. I just cannot get comfortable. My back aches so so bad when I sleep on my sides so I have to fall asleep sitting up then wake up and go on my side. That plus waking up many times a night to go to the bathroom make for a terrible nights sleep.
Best moment this week: This week didn’t exactly go by fast but sort of did. I think I am in full nesting mode because I am going crazy organizing and cleaning everything. With our situation we can’t put together a baby room….well, we could but t would be pointless because we are moving very shortly after the baby is born (Thanks, USMC)…. so I have been busy getting containers and making labels and boring her clothes and everything we have for her already. She already had a lot because as some of you remember we had a failed adoption a few years back. We were adopting a newborn that was also a girl and also due in December but a week before she was born the mother disappeared… I can only hope her and the baby are okay and doing well. ANYWAYS… we still have everything we bought back then so thats why our baby girl Azalea already has so much clothes! Everyone keeps giving me crap for having so much for her and we haven’t even had a baby shower yet but I think may of them either forgot or didn’t know our situation….
To make up for not being able to do a baby room I have been busy organizing and that has been helping kick this crazy nesting urge!
An AMZAING moment this week was when hubby and I went to the “Foreverland” concert here in town. We went to their concert last year and fell in love. They are AMAZING!!! They are a Michael Jackson tribute band and they are the best I have ever seen. They are SO good!
Hubby did great and got us front row seats! During the entire concert baby girl was dancing around, she clearly LOVED it! During my whole pregnancy so far I have played Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 while I get ready, singing and dancing around the bathroom so she is used to hearing his amazing music, shoot, she just might come out dancing!
This week I also started stocking up on supplies to make baby girls baby book! I decided to go with the Project Life system which I already LOVE! I bought a ton of goodies but all at awesome prices…did you know that Michaels accepts competitor coupons? Well, my local store does anyways and Joanns had a 60% OFF coupon that hubby and I both used 2 of to score some great Project Life core kits! Yes, making my own baby books will be way more expensive then the pre-done ones where you just fill in the blanks but you all know me and I LOVE to do this kind of stuff and be creative!
I decided to make 2 books, one book is our pregnancy journey, photoshoots, baby shower and up until her birth. The second book will start at her birth and go until her first year. I am so excited to get started! I also have one more core kit (the baby girl one) coming in the mail today! I can’t wait for them to come in, and when I start her book ill be posting my pages here on my blog!
Now for the not so fun part of my week. Yesterday I had a baby doctor appointment where I had to get a TB test done (hospital protocol) I tried getting out of it but apparently at the hospital here in town if you don’t have a TB test on file then right after the baby is born then I have to get a chest x-ray right away. Never hear of having to do that but whatever…it is what it is. It actually hurt a lot more then I thought it would. I think she went down to deep or something… but Id rather get a shot or blood drawn then have to do THAT again. Hubby captured me getting it done… LOL I am the BIGGEST baby when it comes to anything with needles… I can’t look…
THEN, today I had to do the dreaded glucose test… fast for 8-12 hours then go in for a blood draw, drink this nasty glucose drink, wait an hour then get your blood drawn again. The drink wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be, honestly. But I do think that what helped was that it was super chilled (thank goodness!) You have 5 minutes to drink it all so…bottoms up! It tastes like an extra sugary melted popsicle or otter pop. I was okay at the beginning but about 30-40 minutes into it I started feeling SO nauseous….then 10 minutes before my second blood draw I was so scared I was going to throw up but I made it thank goodness! It really wasn’t that bad and the lady who did my blood draw was great.
Tomorrow I get my test results back for my glucose and TB test. I REALLLLLLY Hope I pass the glucose test the first time because I am not looking forward to doing the 3 hours test…. Ill have crazy anxiety until tomorrow (first day of week 24!) when I find out my results… I always stress out waiting for test results to come back…sometimes I think waiting is worst then actually doing the test!
An upside to my appointment yesterday was we got to hear the babies heartbeat! The doctor says she sounds great!
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: The worst ones are how badly my hands cramp up and go super stiff in the morning. My doctor said its circulation and possibly carpel tunnel…blah. Still nauseous, hand and feet swelling and back aches….
Belly Button in or out? In, but I can definitely tell it is getting pushed out!
Wedding rings on or off? Off
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Finding out my test results for my TB test and Glucose test tomorrow AND out baby shower!!!
Thanks for reading!
