Baby Angel Progress- Week 12

Screen Shot 2015-06-09 at 1.27.13 PMWow! Week 12 has finally came and gone.  I think this week flew by because I had my nephew say with us for a whole week!  He is 2 (almost 3) and such a cutie, this is the longest we have ever got to spend time with him so it was such a blessing that we got that time with him.  I try to take my pregnancy day by day and so far I think week 12 is the week I have been most looking forward to because that is kind of the “Safe week” where your chance of miscarriage drops significantly, so that is a bit of a relief.  Having been through a miscarriage before that was a fear of mine so I feel much better making it through week 12! Yippee!

How far along? 12 Weeks.   June 3rd, 2015

Total weight gain/loss: hold on a sec, let me go jump on the scale….okay, I have gained 4 lbs in 12 weeks.

Maternity clothes? I haven’t bought any yet but this week I have officially grown out of all of my shorts! Super bummed!  So it will be Summer dresses for a whitely I decide its time for maternity shorts.  I did however go to Target and looked at their maternity shorts today and even the XS was to big on me…Ugh…the struggle!

Stretch marks? Ai Yi Yi…. yes, on my hips!  I was using Burts Bees belly butter and belly oil but had to switch because I was breaking out like crazy because there is Almond oil in it (I’m allergic to almonds).  I switched to cocoa butter but saw that that product has almond oil in it also…GRR.. so NOW I’m using this awesome salve my husband got me at an Organic store up in Sacramento.  The product is called Pregnant Belly Salve by Motherlove.   I have only used it once and so far I like it!

It is certified cruelty free, free of preservatives and artificial fragrances and organic!  I love the glass bottle it comes in and the packaging is nice, you all know I’m a sucker for packaging!

Sleep: Once I’m asleep i’m alright besides getting up a few times to go to the bathroom but it’s those moments before sleep where my lower back aches.

Best moment this week: I have a few.  Definitely the best moment was having my nephew Daniel up for the week.  I got to explain to him that there was a baby in my tummy so he had to be careful.  Once he understood he would randomly come up to me and rub my tummy and say that the baby was his cousin.   It was SO adorable!

We took him to the local zoo, he played with his tractors outside, we took him to try Pho for the first time (which he LOVED) and had a great time together all week.  I miss him so much already!

Another great moment this week was buying our first 2 bum genius cloth diapers!  We have decided to use cloth diapers and have started our collection!

Miss Anything? I miss working out.  I know you can work out (and its encouraged) while pregnant but I have been SO sick lately that I have been unable to get my butt to the gym, but I’m thinking next week I will suck it up and go!

Movement: None yet

Food cravings: None.  I wish I did though!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not as bad as I used to be but some things at random do make me sick.

Gender: A.J. thinks boy, I think boy.  I’m mostly thinking boy now because I have had 2 dreams where the baby was a boy! and the last ultrasound made me think it was a boy too! but we will see soon!

Labor Signs: None! thank goodness!

Symptoms: still some light cramping at random, lower back hurts, feel ache, hips hurt a little and still nauseous…..cant wait for all or most of that to go away soon!

Belly Button in or out? in

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Hmm… I’d say a little of both.

Looking forward to: Well now that we have hit the 12 week mark, the next thing I am looking forward to is our next appointment and also finding out the gender next month! Woo hoo!

Thanks for reading,
XOXO

Love Always,

Miyuki Angel

  1. Your blog is so cute. I’m so jealous of how well your keeping track of your progress and your weekly pics. I have not been doing that well and I’m already regretting it. I thought I would share what I’ve been doing to prevent stretch marks and hope it helps you too! As soon as I turn off my shower I cover from my tata’s to my thighs with baby oil, to keep them super moisturizer all day. (Within 2-3 min after a shower is the best time to do any moisturizing cus your pores are open from the heat to really absorb it) then right after that I do my lotion and my tummy butter. Then throughout the day if I see any dryness or I itch I apply a lil more lotion. ❤
